SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) Technology in STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)

How does SBR Technology Works?
SBR technology processes all these units into a single tank for their specific duration and intervals and provides the best treatment very quickly. The SBR technology incorporates a fill-and-draw type biological wastewater treatment process, functionally resembling an activated sludge process. It uses a five stages process for the treatment of wastewater. These stages include:
- Fill
- React
- Settle
- Draw
- Idle
When the basin gate is unlocked the tank is loaded throughout the first stage, while blending is handed over by automatic means, but no air is added yet. During the 2nd stage, the aeration of the blended liquor is carried off using positioned or hanging mechanical pumps or by carrying air into light bubble diffusers positioned to the bottom of the tank. In the 3rd stage, no aeration or mixing is delivered and the settling of removed solids starts throughout the fourth stage, the clean airy liquor outlets the tank into the exit gate.
The duration of the time for each of the modes into the tank can be regulated or managed according to the requirements of the different treatments such as low Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the effluent, biological nutrient removal, etc.
