Effluent Treatment Plant

Importance of Effluent treatment plant and its benefit

Water is the most essential natural asset or resource. Water is used for different purposes, starting from household, water is also used indispensably for industrial purposes. After using these natural resources of water in industries become contaminated. This results in the need of introducing Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) manufactured by KELVIN WATER TECHNOLOGIES.

Effluent treatment plant cleans industrial effluents, contaminated water from outlet pipes, reservoir, rivers, lakes etc and reclaim the water resource for using in different purposes. ETP are mostly installed in industries like textile industry, Medicine manufacturing, leather industry, and chemicals industry. whenever there is a chance of extreme water contamination. These treatments are applied depending on many aspects or characteristics of the waste water and available space or location of the plants.

Such Effluent Treatment Plant ensures that the contaminated and polluted water from industries get treated and become reusable before being released back to nature. Without this treatment, it will not be possible for humans to get clean usable water for household chores.

ETP involves wastewater treatment process for treating contaminants in the form of organic matter, inorganic matter, heavy metals, oil & grease, suspended solids etc. Methodology used for ETP can be either batch process or continuous flow process.

Effluent treatment plant are classified in the following

  • Chemical treatment
  • Biological treatment
  • combination of chemical
  • biological treatment and thermal treatment.

The basic principle of operation of ETP is physio-chemical treatment followed by polishing Treatments like- Sand Filtration, Activated Charcoal Treatment(Adsorption), Ozonation ( Chemical Oxidation), Ultra Filtration(UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and evaporation.

These effluent treatment plants save energy and remove pollution effluent with economical operations and also meet the standards of government.

Basically, the design of effluent treatment plant is highly dependent on industry and site. The main points to be considered while designing effluent treatment plants are characteristics of site and wastewater. Untreated effluent quality and treated effluent quality are majorly taken into consideration in process of wastewater treatment plant design. Also now coming to selection treatment process, it involves consideration of other multiple factors, such as treatment efficiency, cost and reliability.

Characteristic of wastewater is another prime aspect to be considered in terms of physical, chemical and biological characteristic. Size of effluent treatment plant i.e. ETP is depends upon its flow of wastewater. Flow of wastewater should be estimated correctly considering all possible reasons for controlling any trouble in hydraulic computations, channels and pipes.

Many times, we need to construct equalization tank or pond to compensate during temporary heavy flow of water (e.g. Rainfall, storm) to maintain constant downstream treatment process. These equalization ponds also help to reduce toxicity of water.

Therefore, we can say that Kelvin’s ETP is one of the best solution to your industrial waste. And we the engineers of Kelvin assure the desired results with good quality services.
